From the founder’s desk
When we started Leap Finance in 2019, we were driven by one mission – to improve access to international education for all students, regardless of their background, financial situation, location – we truly believe that none of these should stop a hard-working, ambitious student from pursuing the global career of their dreams.
We had seen firsthand how Indian students were paying much higher interest rates compared to their peers abroad – which is why we launched our company with affordable financing for students going to the US, in 2019. Over the next few months, as we started understanding the journey of a study abroad aspirant more deeply, we came to a realization – there is a burning need for real, transparent guidance that is accessible to anyone, anywhere. That’s how Leap Scholar was born – our counselling and guidance platform for Indian students aspiring to study abroad.
Leap has evolved and grown a lot since we started – we are now one of India’s leading digital overseas education platforms – providing everything from admissions counselling, IELTS classes, visa guidance, to financial products for Indian students aspiring to study abroad – all in one place. We have a team of very talented counsellors, instructors and team members helping us change the lives of thousands of study abroad aspirants.
Today, we are humbled to announce that Leap has raised it’s Series B funding round of $17 million – led by Jungle Ventures, along with participation from Sequoia Capital India (who came back a second time to invest in our vision) and Owl Ventures – the world’s largest ed-tech focussed VC fund.
As we move to the next phase of this journey, we want to thank you for your continued love and support.
2020 was a year of tremendous growth for Leap and we can’t wait to get started on the next stage of this journey.
We’ve strived to make overseas education accessible to all. We believe in the potential of students and we’re passionate about helping them get where they want to be.
With more enthusiasm and focus, we look forward to backing the next generation of global leaders who will come out of India.
Onwards and upwards,
– Arnav and Vaibhav
